mmm i dont think its that much personally, not for 2 grand! there are no improvments just a squeezed down qr! i was wanting to see real progress from a combo! no reverb! no external biasing! no 2-12, no better clean improvements.its just a qr that weighs the same with one speaker. no clean solo boost, it would of been nice to have a bright and normal jack! if you are a shredder in a small box it would serve something wanting one. just no options just colors, i guess i was wanting more of a versitile amp with flavor,it would be ( in my opinion) the same as buying a combo and sticking it in a flight case for the 1-12 combo (which would be dumb not to!) to but a flight case that holds the qr head and a 2-12 cab in one box and get an extra speaker...any shredder wants a 2- 12 over a 1-12 i would think. i'll pass and make 2 trips carrying in my 1/2 stack.

well probaly not nessesary you are right shredder but maybe a overall boost, the splawns only boost the dirty so you are right probaly not needed, but if i moved to a combo it would have to be usable like a london 65 sound or a sewell before prs bough them out in a combo not just a screamer in a smaller package but a more refined amp, im guessing that if a 2-12 was made it would be @ $2200 shipped, dont know if i could swing both 1/2 stack and combo mini me qr but to each his own and i guess its what type of music you play in clubs. has anyone even reviewed the splawn combo? i guess why not a 4-10 splawn combo?

its great looking but for my app;lication its all wrong for me but im sure anyone who wants a mini quickrod it would be great, i think i'll change the name of the combo to a quickie.. but it is nice.

Well, I'll tell ya what..... I was never that interested in the combo idea, all the talk yada yada yada, ya know.... so what. Then I see the finished product... the real deal so to speak and I LOVE IT!! Now I'd really like to have one. I wouldn't plan on taking it out to the clubs, got the Quickrod and the 4x12 for that but it would be great to have at the house to practice with, then i could leave my rig at the practice place. Be nice to carry to impromptu jams also. Yep, I like it just like it is. Waiting for the sound clips.... or a vid on the utube... hint hint...don't make me make a 3 hour drive just to give it a listen.  A 20 watt Quickrod cranked.... gotta rock! |
