I am new to these boards but I have been lucky enough to pick up an 05 ProMod. Its and older version with Mercury Mags. I have heard alot of clips with many newer Splawns with many speaker combinations. I am currently using this with a Marshall cab loaded with gt-75's. I haven't really been able to find many clips floating around with older Splawns using newer Splawn cab with like SB/BB speakers. I am unsure if these speakers were around 05. Would it be a safe bet that i could benefit from one of these newer cabs rather than my ole Marshall?

You'd benefit from a Splawn cab with a gov/manowar x-pattern since that's what the Splawns of that era were especially voiced toward.

I have an '05 Pro Mod as well but I believe mine has Heyboer trannies. You sure yours has Mercury trannies in it? I am still confused about when they transitioned. If I'm nor mistaken, only the ones w/o the gear switch and dual inputs had MM's. Anyway, I use either a Splawn 2x12 or 4x12, both loaded with SB-25's. FWIW, I think they are the best speakers for Splawns by a long shot, no matter what year. I can email you some clips or you can go here and check out a little sampler clip on our website from our upcoming album. It's not much, but it's all Pro Mod and Splawn 2x12 with SB25's: www.cheapsedatedhams.com/Home.htmlLet's see some pics of your amp!

Oh and sorry to say, but you are most definitely missing out by using that Marshall GT75 cab! My Pro Mod sounded so much worse through those. I went from a Bogner to a Splawn cab and couldn't be happier.
*edit* that sampler on our site sounds like sh!t, those songs are not mastered and the drummer put that together.
I have begun plans to make a proper Pro Mod clip for people since there aren't too many and I have finally have some recording equipment

Yes im sure it has MM trannies in it. Has the appropriate stickers on the top. Head doesnt have the gears and has the 2 vertical imputs. Honestly the thing is a monster and cant help but think i can achive better tone with the right speaker cab. I wouldn't say its horrible with the marshall cab but im sure it can get much much better. Its kinda funny but i played a Marshall TSL for about 8 years and got tone complements all the time, switched to a Mesa Triple Rec 2 years and got none. I have played one show with my ProMod and got like 5 compliments and that was with my crappy Marshall cab!

Oh yeah as for a picture of the head. I am not sure how to post pictures but there is one of it in the forsale threads. Couple posts down. I drove to the guys house, played it and was not leaving without it. Blew me away!

Samoomoo posted it in the forsale section. Its all white with black piping. It was in such great shape that I swear it was brand new. I dont think the thing even has a finger print on it! The plastic was still under the handle on the top! Crazy stuff.
