When my loop is engaged my sound will fade out almost totally then come back in. Kinda statically like a bad cable. I checked all my cables. Even if I dont have any cables in the loop but have the loop engaged using the loop volume it will do it. It dont do it constantly but every few minutes apart. I bypass the loop and everything is fine.
Anyone experience anything like this before?

I had the effects loop go out on my competition. It turned out to be the big green (or brown) resistor on the mother board. It was a simple repair for a good technician. Scott was very good about it and sent me a new resistor ASAP.
But, when mine went out.. it went out. There was no fading. But, it could be that the resistor is just starting to fail. Mine actually broke apart when we took it off. Stuff happens - no big deal. It has performed flawlessly since. I would call Scott.

Four wires, if I recall, and not too fiddly.

Yes, four wires I think. I replaced my loop card same time I switched the resistor. Scott sent me both since it could be either one. So, I have an extra loop card now. I did not personally do the swap, but sat there while my buddy who is handier than me with a soldering iron did the swap.
