Lava Cables are the best quality for price! Mark Stoddard (Lava Cable owner) is like the Scott Splawn of cables. My whole rig is wired with Lava ELC cables.
I used to think that cables' making a difference was BS, but it really did make a difference. I had been using some generic, local music store cables, but once I used the Lavas, everything improved dramatically.

cables=the biggest hype machine in the industry....generally, Monster is the tip of that particular spear...Monster cables are nothing but a name..are they good? sure....are they worth as much as they charge? no way...
people get too hung up on cables...I'm not saying buy super thin and horribly shielded pieces of sh!t..but you don't have to go crazy with the things...
same goes for any audio or video stuff as well....guitar, speaker, tv, HDMI is there a tone change? could be....how much of it is actual and how much is placebo is still up in the air...but if there is, I still wouldn't drop the kinda money that some of these people ask for their cables..no way, no how...

I've had nothing but bad luck with Monster cables,, but I really like the Mogami cables I am using right now. A friend of mine techs for Machine Head and Cannibal Corpse and he gave me a bunch of them and I'm just loving them.

I just recently read some huge thread on TGP about this topic and I just don't buy 99% of the hype. I could see if you are recording and want to splurge on some decent quality cables. In most live situations though, you will barely tell a difference. My theory is don't buy crap cables and make sure they have lifetime warranties. I use whatever is medium range priced. I think I have a Planet Waves from guitar to pedal board and the 3 cables off my pedalboard are Monster, which haven't failed me in 4 years of gigging/practicing.

:)You know, it's really funny....what shreder said about reality and smoke and mirrors...a good friend of mine decided to go to Gerald Veasley's bass boot camp.....there they expressed the importance of premium cable......I'm using Mogami myself after just replacing Monster and I don't know if it was really worth it. Like DonaldDemon said..live...does it matter so much as long as it's quality cable? Any thoughts??

I cant tell a big difference in my cheaper speaker cable and more expensive Lava cable but I could tell a huge difference in the Monster speaker cable. Im just speaking of speaker cables. All my other cables are mid priced. My guitar cable is the old ironing board style cable which I have had for , gosh, 15+ years and still great. The Lave cable looks great though and seems extremely well made.

To me its not so much sound as much as durability. I go through at least 3-5 guitar cables a year. The Monster cables just died alot quicker it seemed like. These Mogamis are holding up great.. I think I got them in May or something. I've never had a cable last a year.
