I have had my pro stock for about a fortnight, and I´m playing it over a 1936 Marshall 2x12 cab at home. And the thing I´ve noticed about it is, it´s a highly addictive amp.
At first I just found it to be a nice, and very well built, hi-gain amp, but the more I played it, the more the overtones and general response of the amp just got me hooked. I´m used to playing a 1968 50w plexi, everything stock, and I won´t even say that the pro stock is better than my old plexi, it´s just an entirely different beast. the old Marshalls beeing single channel jobs, I´m used to using a Mesa V-twin and a line6 DM4 as distortion units. But the Splawn pro stock has that kind of gain, from the get go, and very good sounding at that. As I said, I´m used to a great sounding amp, but this I wasn´t prepared for. Just beatiful distortion, gain and very musical overtones. Very addictive, and I can´t wait to fire it up with my two 4x12 engl cabs at our rehearsal space. I understand why these amps has a forum.

You can get Splawn 2 x 12 which will have boutique quality construction, parts and speakers for less money than a new Marshall 1936 cabinet, which is made with particle board, plastic and Chinese made Celestion G12-75's. The amp will sound much better through a quality cabinet and speakers. Avatar also makes great bang for the buck quality cabinets.

Yes it´s 75s, and there´s a reason (well THAT`S the reason) why they´re are at my home, instead of at our rehearsal space. The Engls has celestion V30´s in them. And are the best cabs I´ve ever played through.
