When I ordered my Superstock from Scott I noticed that, he ended mails with "God Bless" and the like, and on this forum I´ve also noticed quite a few people who has scriptures in their sigs. I´m just curious, why are so many Splawn fans obviously religious, and of what denomination ? Babtist, Born again, Mormon or what ? I´ll be frank, and admit that I´m an atheist, or rather, agnostic, but I respect all religious beliefs, as long as they "behave.
I have jewish roots, but am babtised into the Danish state church as a protestant christian, I have catholic bandmates and have quite a few muslim friends, so I don´t frown on any religion. As I said, I´m just curious

Agrippa feel free to pm those with the sigs you mentioned above. One of the rules on the forum here is we don't talk religion or politics. It always ends up messy. :-)

I think the only reason that anybody on the forum plays a Splawn amp is because they beat everything else IMHO. The folks on the forum are a pretty gear savvy bunch. Compare the threads on this forum to those on the Marshall JVM forum for example. I am not picking on Marshall, but the stuff on here is a lot less basic. There is plenty of cork sniffing going on here, but I personally want to know what these guys think about all the high end and boutique gear out there.

I play a splawn because it is the best amp out there imho .I tried splawn amps for 2 reasons 1.because of the clips .2. because of Scotts profession of faith in the mission statement . I think his mission statement tends to draw christians to these amps . Not that that is his intention ,but I know when I read it I was in the middle of the tone quest that we all have been on at one time .After reading it I thought well if I gotta try another amp I may as well try a Splawn then if I don't like it at least my money is going to someone who glorifies Christ in his daily bussiness . I'm Baptist btw. disclaimer ........ This not intended to start a discussion on christianity or any other religion .

I thnk the fact that all kinds of people play Scotts amp makes it a great amp. If it was just any other amp then Christians would be drawn to them to support a fellow believer saying "well, its an ok amp but since he is a Christian I will support him". But the fact that all kinds of people play them means the amp stands on its own as a great amp. Hope I make sense..

If Marshall, Mesa or someone else made a better sounding amp than I would play one of their amps. I am a customer service manager in the building industry, and IMHO Scott does live up to his Mission Statement concerning customer service. Scott's integrity is a HUGE plus that comes along with his superior products. I don't know what if anything Jim Marshall believes in, but I would play a Marshall if it sounded better than a Splawn. That said; if someone made an amp that sounded great, but they were open about a faith which says that it is OK for them to lie, cheat, steal, etc....such as the the Allister Crowley axiom "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law," than I would pass on their amp. I would be reluctant to trust their business practices.

such as the the Allister Crowley axiom "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law anyone that can name the band that used that line in a song will get a shiny gold star from me!! and NO CHEATING WITH GOOGLE YA CHEATERS!! great band!! awesome and brutal and fast enough to turn milk into butter if not supervised!! here is a hint..two cd's..not a band anymore(but trying to come back..at least as their myspace claims..i can only hope!! i'm drooling a little hold on while i wipe the corner of my mouth)...from the south, did a cover of a black sabbath song on their last cd(into the void).

My whole point in responding to this question was/is to state that religion has nothing to do with purchasing a Splawn. Splawn amps just blow everything else into the weeds IMHO. As I said before, I don't know what Jim Marshall's personal beliefs are, but I would play a Marshall if they made something I liked better. I hope you get your gear soon Ronnie. Splawn is a small operation building a ton of orders one right after the other. It can take awhile to get your order, but it will be worth the wait.

I agree with everyone else.......the amp sells itself. I bought a Splawn when I heard the first sound clip but got even happier when I found out that Scott is a Christian. We had a nice conversation about his faith on the phone when I placed the order. Very cool guy. I'm a baptist by the way. I would have bought the amp even if Scott wasn't a Christian (unless he was a satanist or something).
