Just opened up my Marshall 4x12 cab to see that I have Rola Celestion GT12-80's (15 ohm?!) in it. I mistakenly thought they were G12-75's. I don't see the 80's mentioned here in conjunction with a Splawn amp and was wondering if anyone had any guesses as to how they think that combination might/should sound with a Quick Rod. To my ears it is sounding pretty poor and a SB25 cabinet is on order but I am still curious to see if anyone has any comments about the 80's. I don't really know a lot about them other than that they were in a cabinet, I needed one a few months ago and bought it. Thanks

Doh!
I was looking into buying some of those! They were an alternative to the G12 65 and G12T75 speaker in the 80s. Marshall model 1982 cab came with those. They work well with Marshalls. Ohh well, glad I saw this before I had a chance to buy them! I am running a 1960 w/ G12T 75s at the moment, they sound pretty good, but the clip Windsen posted with the Eminences and SBs blow them away.
