I was willing to let it go for a little while..then I just got sick of everyone turning into blatant douchebags with the personal attacks....
Fact--people are going to have differing opinions..on EVERYTHING..there's no getting around it..ESPECIALLY about things like politics and religion...
I thought the chia obama was fookin' hysterical..whether I like the guy or not..then the thread got fookin' derailed and bam....we have people making fun of beliefs and where they happen to be born and all kinds of sh!t slinging...bullsh!t I sez
as far as the politics go? not everybody likes Obama....turnabout is fair play....people not supportive of the last president had their say...now it's fair and should be expected for people not supportive of the current president to bust his balls as well...that's life...deal with it...
people let this kinda sh!t escalate and escalate..over what? A CHIA PET IN OBAMA'S LIKENESS!!!!! BIG DEAL! lol
have any of you even met Obama? Has he pulled an Ed McMahon and come to your house with a check for a million dollars, thusly helping you realize the American Dream? Does he invite you over for drinks? To play squash perhaps?
My guess is no.....so stop taking it so friggin' personally! And stop GETTING so personal

For the better, that's for sure! Threads like that one have the potential to alienate an entire block of customers of a certain faith from Scott's amps, even if this forum isn't directly tied to Scott. I thought the Chia thing was really funny too. Some people, of course, had to use it for a platform for political jabs. have any of you even met Obama? My guess is no.....so stop taking it so friggin' personally! And stop GETTING so personal Yeah, but when people make huge, hypothetical character accusations, it gets a bit ridiculous. I mean, I wasn't a big fan of the last president, but I still think he's probably a great guy and not some evil satan that so many people made him out to be. People who do that look immature and childish. Same thing goes for our current president. With that said, I think politics/religion should be strictly banned and enforced.

and they will be from here on out...because we've all proven that we can't have those types of discussions without getting our collective panties in a wad...so that's the end of it....

I sure miss freedom of speech. This is a SAD day for the forum IMHO. If someone's knowledge of politics is limited to talking point, regurgitated sound bites and political spin, than they should refrain from getting involved in political debate. They won't get their feelings hurt that way. Did you notice that the only people who called other board members names on the last thread were Obama supporters. Those who disagreed with Obama were called racist, narrow minded and intolerant. So much for the free market place of ideas. This is pathetic.

Don't aggravate the situation, man..I'm all for freedom of speech, but this happens every time..people get pissed, everyone starts calling names and then bam, someone leaves..I'd love to be able to bust balls back and forth about it as well without people getting all heated but even I'M prone to becoming pissed about it at times..
so it's best to let sleeping dogs lie and just let it go

It sounds like their issues go deeper than politics.

There was immaturity on BOTH sides, and putting down another religion is pretty dang intolerant.

OK , its cool no more religion or politics on the forum . what I do have an issue with is all this claim that someone is gonna get turned away from Splawn amps because of what is said on this forum . The amps speak for themselves . The only thing you could say to hurt the amps is if you got on here and started trashing the amp itself or the customer service . Which are both top notch btw . To say that someone wouldn't buy an amp because of what he read on this forum is ridiculous . Also everyone wants to act like they are worried about what Scott would think . However when people are calling each other obscenity's on here no one seems to care .I don't know Scott personally but I do know that he is a Christian and from that knowledge I would conclude that he would be more offended by obscenities than by a political or religious debate. So next time something isn't going your way how about leaving Scott out of it .
