I'm going to order a Splawn Hybrid Slant 4x12 today. I was just wondering how you guys are liking these things. I usually prefer the tone of a straight, but I like how I can hear myself better with a slant in some situations. This hybrid slant, with the slanted straight baffle, looks like a nice compromise.
SonicExplorer, are you around? I remember that you got one a while back, and liked it. Any updates since then?
Oh, and I know some people are not sure about how they look. That's not an issue for me, as I think they look neat.

Okay, then I'll say it one more time: BUY THE FOOKIN' HYBRID and be glad that you did. ;D
Aside from sounding great, the hybrids also look great in person. Pictures don't do it justice.

Haha. I was kinda hoping for more of an update to your quick comparison you wrote up some months back. You're too late, anyway. I ordered the Hybrid yesterday. ;D

I too have the Hybrid and love it. It is a subtle slanted baffle. I dont hear myself quite as well as i did with a true angled cab, but the tone makes it well worth it. And yes, it looks cool as hell.....

I have the straight and the slant hybrid and I love the slant. YES, you can definitely hear better at gigs for sure. Its my goto cab for bar gigs and the like...

I have a hybrid in boa tolex. You will love this cab. There is a slight increase in upward projection that a traditional straight doesn't have. You made a good decision.

Hey Craig..was just wondering..how slanted is that baffle? It looks to me that the straight cabs are straight. I know the Marshalls are slightly slanted upwards...does it really make a difference when you're on stage and able to get away from the cabs?....

Yeah dude it makes a huge difference. I play loud as fck too,, everywhere.. ask any of the guys here who have been to a show. I can hear WAY better with that slant. Sometimes I use both cabs though at bigger venues or opening for nat'ls or something.
