Thunder On The Lot is an annual charity event held here in So Cal (Lancaster). Live bands, car and bike show, motorcycle races, etc., etc. My band usually plays this event, but at the time they contacted us for booking we were looking for another guitar player and couldn't commit. Went out today to check out the bands and other stuff. The Hollywood All Stars were the featured act. Members from bands like Quiet Riot, Dokken, etc. The guitar player was supposed to be Carlos Cavazo from Quiet Riot / Snow and others. I was there while they were setting up and saw a Splawn Quick Rod. Went up to talk to the guy setting up and turns out it was Jon Levin from Dokken (Carlos was on tour with Ratt). Levin's sound and tone were awesome!!! I know the sound guy and told him I was looking forward to hearing the amp as I have one myself. He told me this was the second time he had the opportunity to work with a guitarist playing a QR. He loves the amp and in his own words... "they gush tone". He said he doesn't have to do any EQ on the board. "Just give 'em a little volume out front and let 'em rip". He's looking to buy one for his recording studio.

Jon Levin is a MONSTER player. I have seen him with Dokken a few times and I have always been very impressed. I am glad to hear that he plays Splawn amps.

JD... I was really impressed with his playing and his tone, of course!!! Nice guy too. He took a few minutes to talk Splawn with me while he was setting up. I didn't remember that he is actually one of the artists pictured on the Splawn site. It was the first time I had seen him live and it was a nice treat. I've seen Carlos Cavazo too many times to count and it would've been a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon, but seeing Levin and hearing a QR cranking live made it a great day.
