I was browsing the pages of the August issue of "Guitar World" today and stumbled across a questionnaire with Kill Switch Engage. Page 71, Under the "Primary guitar/Amp setup for tour" they are listed as both using Splawn Nitros. I know this isn't anything new, But it sure did put a smile on my face. Yeehaw! Go Splawn!

If you think about it there is probably tons of bands that have Splawns hidden backstage running their rigs with their endorsement amps on stage. Props to KSE (Mesa endorsed I think).

KSE at least used to be....when they first got their nitros I heard they had their rectos on stage but the splawns backstage and miced up....awesome of them to mention the nitro as being their amp of choice in a major publication

I am always surprised that Splawn amps do not get more press. It seems like most guys that I run into who are pretty equipment savvy, are at least aware of Splawn amps and their great reputation. It is kind of strange that there has not been at least one guitar magazine do a Quick Rod or Nitro review. I have seen reviews done for much lesser known amps and amp makers.

+1 JD. Most guys I know that are either equipment savvy and/or "in the biz" know about Splawn amps. A lot of the trade mags expect to get "review gear" free, and maybe Scott feels he doesn't really need that type of press right now. Just a guess. I know he's plenty busy. I just hope I can buy another Splawn before the word REALLY gets out. LOL!

GW did a review of the QR last year Shred is right. It was a very small right up in the "under the radar" column. If Splawn amps even had the slightest exposure or ad in a magazine,it would take a half year or more to get an amp.I kinda like the fact that he doesnt advertise or get alot of exposure.I love when someone has never heard of Splawn and you fire that bad boy up and blow peoples minds.

I know the feeling. I will be setting up and someone will say "is that a Marshall" and I say "no it is a Splawn" Then I get the usual response of "I have never heard of Splawn" Once they hear it they are always very impressed and other guitar players end up saying "I want one of those." What did Guitar World say about the Quick Rod? Is the article posted on the forum somewhere?

Here ya go JD. TOO COOL! Thanks SBK! They did forget to mention that the Quick Rod would blow away any of the amps that happened to be paying to advertise in their magazine, but other than that it was a nice review. Scott does has a real gift for Marshall type circuits.
