I was wondering if anybody knows about how long /how loud it takes to break in a speaker(spec sb25s)?

The doping was like epoxy cement on my Emis, I don't know if I ever broke them in at my volumes! Depends on usage of course. Most recommend lots of hard chording with the gain down and the master up.
Lately I've been able to properly hear the difference between new and broken-in speakers, as I got a sort of NOS Greenback the same age as my used one. Listening right up in front of the 2x12, with both installed, the "new" one definitely stands out as being a bit harder sounding without the sweetened top of the used one. I'll have to give it a bit of a beating when the neighbors are out.
Saw a guy on YouTube hook up a power transformer to his speakers to just make them hum loudly for 12 hours, which is how long he says it takes to break them in.

Ya... It'll take a couple of weeks at "band volume". I think it took my cab (4X12 w/SB25's) about 30 hours (estimate) at or near band volume before they settled in and I stopped hearing differences in the sound from one day to the next. Good luck... it's all part of the fun!
