hey guys, i wanna either build or buy an extra footswitch for my Splawn Nitro. But What I want to do is being able to disconnect the cable(s) from the foot switch when not using it.
Basicly I want to mount it on my pedal board and run the cables for the footswitch with my cable snake for my pedals that go into the loop of the amp and input jack. I dont want to cut/shop and re-do the original Splawn Footswitch I have that came with my Nitro.
Anyone ever done something like this?
Thanks

Thanks Disconnecting footswitch cable is now an option when you order a new amp. Someone posted a pic of it on the forum awhile back even. I don't know if Scott will sell you a new footswitch without ordering a new amp though. Wouldn't hurt to call and find out.

how much are they from scott? All I know is when you order a new amp, for a small upcharge you can get a footswitch with a disconnecting cable. I chose that option when I placed my order a few months back. I never tried to buy just the footswitch though. I would be interested if he sells them independently as well...

you can get a new footswitch separate of the amp, people have done it if they've broken theirs

I want another switch as well becuase I play in 2 different bands and I have my big pedal board and cables all zip tied into one large umbilical that goes to the amp and to have channel switching at smaller gigs where I don't need all my pedals, I'd need another footswitch as I don't want to take the umbilical apart.
that or a new footswitch with detachable cables option.
I also want these style LED's with the chrome surround. Radio shack sells them actually. I modded a couple of PC's with them. very easy to work with so modding the stock switch to replace the cheap plastic surrounds shouldn't be too hard. but yeah... I'd want the LED's from left to right to go from yellow/orange/red. I'd love to have 2 LED's in the first two so if the amp is clean, it'd be a green LED and if it goes on to the overdrive channel, it would go to yellow and for the od1/2 switch, I'd want it to be orange if it's on OD1 and red if OD2 is on and boost could be blue.

Just an update for you guys. I made my current footswitch cables disconnectable. I went to my dad's shop where he had a nice big industial drill. Drilled 2 holes in there, mounted 2 Panel Mount type: and then changed the end of the cable to XLRs: So now, I can take the footswitch off of my pedal board and use it as a standalone footswitch if I wanted to. Cheers
