I'm thinking about a ISP Technologies decimator or the g string decimator. Anyone using one of these ?

dukeofmeta,,,, How do you have the g string hooked up in your chain. at the end of your input? at the end of your effects loop chain? I'm very curious about this pedal. can you elaborate? Thanks, Tony

Thanks, Tony Tony, basicly, the G-string has an input, output, send and return. The hook up would go like this: Guitar --> ISP Input --> ISP Output --> Nitro Input Then, you take the ISP's Send and plug it into the Return of the amp's loop and then the amp's Loop Send would go into the Return jack of the ISP. Turn it all the way down, turn your guitar all the way down and adjust the Threshold on the ISP until your hi gain hiss/hum is gone. You may need to adjust it after you turn your guitar back up and play, but wont be much. Hope that helps. Cheers

Thanks dukeofmetal, I believe I'll try that unit.
Wondering if i have delay in the effects loop, if the decimator will cut those off when stop playing?

If the delay is before the gate or in the middle i believe it will. THat's why i had to move mine to after the noise gate unit. I guess it realy depends how long the delay is and how you have the threshold and attack set on the gate.

Got the ISP Technologies G-String Decimator today, just gone done putting it in my pedal board after experimenting where to put it in my chain pre and post.. WOW ! This thing is awesome, I can't believe I have been living without this thing. Makes life much easier. I usually have to stomp my channel to clean at the end of every song to get rid of the hiss. This thing operates flawlessly. Thanks to all who led me to it!

The ISP is a much better unit than the Boss NS-2 or the MXR Smart Gate. I have owned them all and the Decimator is the ONLY one that gets rid of amp hiss without altering your tone.
