Hi
why is there a button for +4/-10 db on the fx loop. Why do you need this and what does it do/how does it work? Sorry for this noob question but I only recently began using fx with my amps...
thanks in advance

I don't know as I don't have a Splawn yet, but I'd say it's for running pedals or rackmount units... rackmounts being at +4, pedals being at -10.

Sorry for this noob question but I only recently began using fx with my amps... thanks in advance Pedals like Boss Pedals have an Input and Output level of -10db. Rackmount units mostly have an Input and Output level of +4dbu. -10db is usually refered to as Instrument Level +4db is usually refered to as Line Level Line Level can accept Instrument level but not vice versa as Line Level is too hot for an Instrument level input and can cause clipping/distortion and sometimes damaging of a unit. hope that helps. if someone here would like to add something, please do. Cheers

So if I understand this correctly I need to set the fx loop to -10 db when using single fx pedals but when I am using a multi fx unit like a g major I need to set the amps fx loop to +4 db?
thanks for the info

For example both my Boss RV3 Digital Reverb/Delay and DD-20 pedals sounded better on the +4 setting.

I dont have the manual for the Boss RV3, but can it handle +4db input? It worked great in my old Quickrod's loop on the +4 setting.

It worked great in my old Quickrod's loop on the +4 setting. hmm.. maybe the Loop can be set to +4, but only puts out whatever signal amount it gets. So basicly if you feed it a -10db signal when its set to +4, it'll only put out -10db. I guess maybe we can clarification on this from someone who knows Splawn amps tech wise. anyone? Thanks
