Hi guys,
received my promod some weeks ago and didnt have too much time to play with it yet. I will go to the recording studio next week to find a good setting for my stuff.
can anyone share some hints? what i am looking for is a kick-ass rocknroll sound (similar to the new whitesnake-cd) and something more heavy (similar to the mustasch style). i have a 2x12 cab with EVM 12l 200w and a laney 4x12 with celestion vintage 30w.
guitar is a ESP with emg 81/85. i am grateful for anything you can share. even if its just a try, i will see then if it blows me down to my knees. Thanks in advance to everyone!

Well the settings differs a lot from person to person based on personal taste and cab\speakers\guitar, I don't have a promod but with my competition my settings are usually: bass 1 o'clock (adjust according to volume level), mids 12 o'clock, treble 0, presence 9 o'clock, gain 12-2 o'clock, gear 1 or 2. Good luck man and welcome to the forum.

Thanks in advance to everyone! Congrats! Settings really depend on guitars, speakers, room, application and personal style. That said I recommend running all the setting at noon and tweaking from there. My general settings are close to that. I adjust the presence for which cab I use. When I use my 4x12 w/ V30's I keep the presence around 9:00 and when I use my 2x12 with greenback copies I keep the presence around 11:00. My bass usually doesn't go above 11:00 either. My favorite setting and the one I use live is Gear 2 gain about 2:00, bass 10:00, mids 12:30, treble 12:30 and presence adjusted to speakers/guitar. My suggestion for recording (I just finished tracking guitars on our latest project) is to leave the gain and bass about 15-25% lower than you normally would. You will get a clearer track and it will be plenty aggressive. Good luck and have fun.

I should also mention I play with passive pickups and I noticed you use EMG's so my setting may not work for you at all.

thanks guys, hey donalddemon, can you share some of the stuff you recorded? curious how it sounds Well this may not be the best example but here is a thread showing a small part of a song. It was really to show the fuzz tone though and the rhythm is not a good example: splawnfans.proboards38.com/index.cgi?board=clips&action=display&thread=5957Pm me your email address and I will send you a better song clip.

My PM settings are as follows -- overall, I find that the treble and presence levels really need to be kept low.
bass 2 or 3 o'clock mids 2 or 3 o'clock treble 9 o'clock presence 9 o'clock gain from 9 to 12 o'clock depending on volume and gear gear 1 or 2

So many people are keeping their presence and treble so low. I keep my presence around 9:00 but I like my treble up near 12-1:00 and I use V30's sometimes! Maybe I have more hearing damage then I think.

The nature of the amp is very bright so for me even with the treble on 0 it still has more than enough.

I get no piercing highs from my amp.

Just to show you everyone is diff, here are my average settings I have a Carvin Legacy 4x12 with greenbacks and a Carvin Legacy 2x12 with v30's in it. Depending on the volume, bass at 2-8 Mids at 10-1 treble at 9-1 presence any where from 10-2 all depends upon the cab and the volume, and I use a Ibanez Jem7vwh and a PRS cu24 and PRS modern eagle. and a tc electronics g major, furman power conditioner and some pedals like t-rex bloody mary, t-rex reptile, morely bad horsie 2 wah. If at lower volumes everything up of course higher volumes come back I like a good bit of bass but not to the point where it muddies everything up. I like to hear every note clearly. Hope this helps.

I just thought of something too. I run like 15 pedals in front of the amp so I probably lose some highs there.
