Hey everyone. I 'm kind of stuck in whether to buy a SPLAWN nitro, a SOLDANO avenger or a VHT deliverance 60 (all priced under $2000), for recording purposes. My gear for recording guitars is a TG2 CHANDLER LIMITED preamp and one ROYER 121/ SM 57.
The sound that I want to achieve is lots of gain saturation but at the same time, have big open chords be heard well, since my band plays something between progmetal and tropical jazz (hahahaha). For example, some guitar tones I like are the ones of TOOL, KING CRIMSON, FOO FIGHTERS, OPETH, ALICE IN CHAINS , etc.
So please, if you have any suggestions for any of these three amps I will surely appreciate them, since I live in South America and don't have the possibility to try any amp. Thanks a lot!!!

Well man, your on a Splawn forum asking fans of Splawn amps their opinion on what amp to buy between Splawn,Soldano, and now Fryette amps..What kind of response do you think your going to get? Anyway,I have a Nitro and love it.I have KT-88`s in mine and they give me that big sound that lets 6 string chords ring through pleasantly and gets just dirty enough for whatever you want.It also cleans up really good when you back off the volume knob and has a good clean channel.I would say that it definately would get the sounds you are looking for.I am a huge Chains fan and it brings me great pleasure to drop my low E string to D and crank out some Them Bones,We die Young, or some Damn that River!!!

I am in a cover band that does Tool, Foo Fighters and AIC. The Nitro works great for this type of material.

The Splawn is more Marshall out of the 3. If that's the kind of thing that you like, then the Splawn is it. If you want something else, well there's alot of great amps out there. Soldano and VHT included

I have owned a few Soldanos including 2 SLO's Great amp. But I own a Nitro and a Pro Mod now so... The VHT is only a one channel and so is the Avenger so that is a downside IMO. I would go with the Nitro.
