One thing to check is which tranny it has in it. If it has a Mercury Magnetics tranny then it may sound quite a bit different from the new ones w/ a Heyboyer. Which is better is a matter of taste but they will sound different.

i went ahead and bought the head. turns out its the purple beast scott sent to okinawa, and according to scott by the ser # he thinks its the first production pro stock he built, and remembers it. got er home and all i can say is WOW !! the amp just sings. plenty of gain on tap and cleans up quite well with the guitar volume. im really gonna have to order a matching cab from splawn, the cheaper marshall cab sounds great but im sure there is alot more potential from this baby.ill get some pics up soon.......

i looked and it has Heyboer tranny and says quickrod on the tranny and choke. very aggressive sounding amp! it just plain out rips.i think im hooked, might have to sell the Rivera to buy another. im going to try to get up to scotts shop next month for a retube, and ill see if he can confirm the build, but he seemed to remember the amp very well when we spoke.looks like ill be at the next convention!
