I've just picked up a Competition.. now I use a TC Electronics G major for my effects but when I patch it into the loop of THIS amp the amp gets crazy brite. I've got the treb and pres on 0 !
anyone else experiencing this?
Also on a side note ..My headshell is white w/gold piping.. I am not a white amp guy..anyone wishing to swap theirs out hit me up at:

Few things.
Splawns infamously need to be turned up quite loud to overcome that change you're hearing with the loop. It's mentioned in the manual. Give that a try. If it's too loud, use the G major to control your volume, with the master on the amp itself at 9 o'clock or above. You'll hear it get all warm and smooth out when you get there.
Check your cables. I had some bad cables in the loop that made it sound like a very loud transistor radio. You could have cut glass with that sound.
Turn the Solo knob up to 9 o'clock or above, even if you're not using Solo mode. It affects the tone at lower volumes.
