Just so we're clear, a Pro Stock sounds exactly the same as the QuickRod OD channel, correct?
I've been looking at clips of the QR with EL34's, which is what I'm thinking of getting in my pro stock.

I would say they are 90% the same. I had both, and found the Pro Stock to be a little bit more gainy/aggressive sounding. I think this has something to do with the shorter signal chain from not having the clean channel.... Anyway, my Pro Stock has EL34Bs and sounds awesome!

Did you guys who have the pro stock played the comp as well? Is the comp more aggressive than the pro stock?

Did you guys who have the pro stock played the comp as well? Is the comp more aggressive than the pro stock? I played a Comp at both Cons. The Comp sounded like my Pro Stock when I played it thru comparable speakers w/ the exception of the half power pentode/triode thing. |
