I thought about red, but I like blue LEDS better. I just got in a blue 120V pilot light to replace the amber one. As far as how it was pretty simple. You can buy LEDS really cheap that come in 12" strips. You just break off what you don't need at a designated break point on the strip. They use a simple snap in two wire harness and run off of 12volts. I'm working on getting them to run off of the amps power. I think a small step down transformer will work. I'm still working on it though. I may use the LEDS for my pedal board and just have the blue pilot light.

Thats cool snappinnecks! I have an Engl Special edition that has little red lights behind the tubes. The EL34 version has blue like that too. Unfortunately I have an early one that used acutal light bulbs (like christmas lights) that have painted glass and the paint scratches off when changing tubes. The newer ones use led's that dont have that problem. Anyway I always have liked the back lighting, looks killer on a dark stage.

Hey snappinnecks, did you ever get your LEDs to run off the amp's power, if so, how'd you do it? Also, where did you find the blue pilot light, I've been searching all over and can't find it anywhere.

No I haven't had a chance to work on getting the lights to run off of the amps power. It is going to require a small step down transformer to make it work. As far as the blue pilot light. You can find them on Ebay. They have to be 110V though. 5 bucks for 10. Sorry I'm not selling or shipping any of them just yet. I need to see how well it works.
