Cool John! I hope you dig it.
I have an older one with no gears and a dual input. It has the Heyboers in it.
I like the tone from it very much.

Cool, Here's mine. I fired it up last night and it sounds great! I guess mine would be 2nd gen? Has the gears via footswitch and acually the clean channel in this baby is very very good!

I can't see the pic at work, but I assume it is the same as mine. I think the clean channel is better on the Pro Mods because of the head room in KT88's. QR users seem to complain more about the older clean channel.

Hi All - I am new to the forum......sounds like fun. I have a 2004 50 watt Pro Mod built with EL34s. No Gears, shared EQ and one input. I love em simple like this ........and I just love this amp. I do not play metal but play pretty aggressive rock and blues. Suites me to the T. I grew up in Ireland (not Irish though) and owned mant brit amps through the years and this kills them all. This thing is hard to turn off!!!

To me the older heads with the Merc tranny's are hard to beat in this caliber of amps.

It's funny that most people who own 2nd Gen Splawns want to upgrade to 3rd Gen with new clean channel and so on, but I would actually like to get my hands on an older one with MM trannies and dual inputs. I bet it sounds a bit more fierce and aggressive. I feel the same way about my PM though, Idon't want to turn it off after a gig or practice!

Nice! Looks like it is in great shape.
Mine has 2 inputs and looks alot like the newer heads but does not have the gears knob. It also has the Heyboers and a separate clean channel with a mid knob on the cleans. 50/100 watt switch on the back and also the loop like the newer heads. Which version is that? With the exception of the no gears knob, clean channel being different and 2 inputs it looks like the newer version.... hmmm. I love the head so i would not even think of upgrading but it would be nice to know more about it.
