Nice pics! Now, why use the volume box in the studio? Aren't you isolated from the cab while playing? Nice Universe too.

That is a subkick, used with a kick mic to add sub bass frequencies for an uberkick sound. We used it on guitar as well to add girth to the lower mids without all the farty mess. As for the volume box, that's not what it really is. It's one of those you see on ebay for 10 bucks or something. I didn't ask how he's using it but it's still loud yes, he uses it on like, 2. Doesn't really do a whole lot but we can get just a hair more volume. I am isolated yes. The album is 100% splawn with the rhythms being with a Marshall 1960A cab with Hellatone 60's and the solos with a Mesa oversized with V30's. Did i mention it's 100% splawn?!
