i locked the other thread and will soon delete it so there's no confusion.
i spoke to scott in great length just now about this year's con.
he wants to go with the backing track idea. it's easier to organize and run.
this year all activities will be done at the splawn shop. we're not going to be moving over to the back room of the music store.
scott will be renting a trailer (similar to what gibson guitars uses to take around to race tracks - only not as big) that he'll have parked outside next to the shop and will probably have one of the streets blocked off for the con. in the trailer there will be 6 4X12 cabs and 6 heads that people can play through. scott has a p.a. that we can use for the backing tracks and this will allow you to play along in the trailer if you're too shy testing out amps and also have it amplified outside the trailer if you like. scott wants to go with the trailer idea because last year people came late and missed the whole experience of the shop run through. this way they can check out the shop and walk a few yards to where the party is...as usual we'll have the grill going with food, etc.
scott also mentioned that he's working on a new product to debut at the con, he said it wasn't anything huge but the only hint he would give me is that it's something we've been asking for...
so if you want to take part in the backing tracks jam then PM Supercharged350 with what you want to do...if you want to jam like we did last year then that can be easily organized also, right there.
there won't be room for live drums/etc.
sounds like a killer time to me! ;D

Just remember to bring "Excelsior" the bottle opener this time. I don't want to drive around Gastonia again and have to endure the blank stare I got from 2 places after I asked "Do you guys sell bottle opener's?"
