I know this is a bit of an older thread,..but I love the latest Dokken album,..and John's tone is to dye for on a couple of those tunes!!! (Can't wait to hear the next release with a QR!!!!) ...

Aren't all new things always cooler than the predecessor? ;D Might also depend on which "Lynch" he's referencing - Dokken Lynch or the new "bigger" and more experimental (read as less melodic/toneful) "Lynch".  |

Jon and I have been friends for 20 years. He is a well schooled and highly disciplined guitar player. Keep in mind, there's a percentage of Dokken's fan base that expect/demand every album or guitar player "post Lynch", to play "lynch" inspired riffs/solos. This isn't always an easy thing to do. IMO, Jon does an outstanding job of this, and still manages to carve his own signature into the music. Not all of us can do this well. He's got the goods and delivers them.
