I think TJ might go for the Timberlake endorsed 'Metro' i think he's more for the single channel, 16 ohm "OHMO" Because when you're full-tilt teabagging, sometimes 15 ohmos are not enough ;D

The RC Booster does this perfectly. Care to elaborate?

The RC Booster does this perfectly. Care to elaborate? You said a clean boost resulting in more saturation would be perfect. The RC Booster does just that w/o altering the amps tone unless you want it to via the treble and bass knobs. That was exactly the kind of pedal I was looking for and after trying a few the RC Booster was dead on what I wanted.

why would scott try to develop a pedal when he can sell you an amp? simple economics ;D (all above points are valid also) To be fair, simple economics also dictate that many people whom you haven't managed to sell a $1900 amp to may be willing to throw a few hundred on a little slice of tone. Isn't this what Mesa tried with the V-Twin thing? Andrea's idea doesn't seem that crazy to me. *shrug*

DD may be talking about the Xotic RC boost, they also make an AC boot and a BB preamp... good stuff

The RC Boost seems like the best of the three for the Splawn IMO. Awesome little pedal.

I did not imagine to open a discussion with so much replies... Actually my idea born from reading a previous topic about which is the best overdrive pedal to couple to Splawn amps. There where such a lot of replies and anyone sweared about his pedal, some custom made, some limited editions, some unknown builder.... I personally can't try any pedal on the market and I am very happy with my Splawn sound, it would be nice to have a pedal to refer, as someone mentioned, a pedal or a couple of pedals Mr Splawn swears about. I am personally confident with Scott advice when we are talking about guitar sound, I think anyone who tried a Splawn amp is. That's why I think would a nice idea to have Splawn pedals, and maybe a good marketing idea. Fuchs, TopHat, Burriss, Divided by 13 are all developing overdrive pedals. Thanks a lot for your interest, hope I can come for a future Spalwn Convention, Andrea.

Well you are talking about two different things here- a preamp type pedal that will give clean amps a Splawn type of sound, and a boost pedal that would work well with Splawn amps. I guess a simple solution to the later one would be to call Scott and ask him what his favorite boost pedal to go with his amps.

Who knows how Scott's business will evolve.....If he was simply after money, or the "economical" solutions, he would be sub-contracting some work out........In which case the quality would probably suffer a bit.
My vote would be for him to focus his energy on.......what was it?......The Eliminator? A midi amp with Ch.1 being clean, Ch.2 being QR and Ch.3 being Nitro. But whatever the voicing of the channels may be, I just want a Splawn with midi !!

some of you guys are confusing "economics" - like scott's not going to do something to LOSE money, with the term "economical" - like him using cheap parts/outsourcing
scott's process is geared up for building AMPS
