I'm also curious in trying Svetlana's in the SLP. My bud thinks I'm wrong on the 800 cab as he thinks it has 65's not 75's. Guess I have to get the screw gun out.

The 65's are supposed to be better than the 75's, one of the Small Blocks speakers in my cab is based on the 65, though i'm guessing the celestion ones have more treble. Shreder has a splawn 2x12 cab with weber 65's and he likes them.

Installed new JJ's with E34L's & adjusted bias to 70%. Sounding better but I need more clarity. It has tones of gain, I keep the preamp at 9:00 & it is insane! But I need a little more articulation imo. I don't want to replace the OT . I may play with the bias or try some tube swapping. The amp is also noisy, it hums a lot. I messed with the hum ballance pot & it seemed much better but now it is back. It may be a ground issue I need to look for..

I found mine to hum or be noisier when I use effects loop, otherwise its pretty quite.

I adjusted the hum ballance again tonight & it is better. But it is still pretty noisy imo. If you were to turn the preamp up half way it would be very noisy.

No I have to admit mine is pretty quiet...I have played with the Hum balance and I'm no tech but, it must be effecting the output of the amp somehow...is it not? I have some hum when I use the effects threw the Quadraverb but had to set the levels up and it helped. I have a Rockman EQ that I use in the loop for solos and found that to be the problem with the noise..also keeping the cables away from the wall wart on the power conditioner makes a big difference, I've ben toying with taking the conditioner out and putting the Rock Tron Hush back in.

Ok I think I'm ready to try some new speakers. The slp still has this harsh sounding brightness and breakup when you back the guitar vol. down, for lack of a better word almost like digital distortion if you know what i mean. Have the 2 800 cabs with the 75's and going to compare them back top back to see if maybe the one I always use has a blown speaker. I would like to X the 75's with something else. I play mostly 70-80's rock some drop stuff just cause I have to in the band I'm in. Mostly Gary Moore, Nugent, G&R, Y&T Dokken Priest...guitar stuff. Any suggestions? I'm thinking 2 Gov. speakers.
