Hey! I'm glad it worked, and you made contact. I just got my earlier version QR and I have a Splawn 2x12 as well with celestions and this set up is F#$@! awesome! I have had the Splawn Marshall Plexi with 3 channels, I have a Pro Mod still that I am selling and now the QR seems to be the right one for me. Just about ever rock song you have heard from Classic's to Metal can be attained on the QR, and did I mention I don't miss my 4x12 at all, the Splawn 2x12 kicks ASS! Best of luck.. ;D

yes, I think I remember you saying something about the splawn 2x12..heHeHeH....
I now know what's up with my cabinet..it's ported on the bottom...so, you know how bass is...it travels EVERYWHERE...non directional....so when I'm not sitting right in front of the two 12" speakers (which, we know treble and mids are directional) I get nothing but flub cause it's all bass! I don't like that..in fact I hate it with every fiber of my being..lol...
scott said (and it dawned on me after he said it) that it's cuz of the ports..the splawns aren't ported...as you well know =) anywho, I was having the same type of problem with my line 6 2x12 (had celestions), but not to the same extent..BUT, it was open backed! SO, the bass STILL was able to travel all over the joint..lol
anywho, which celestions do you have in your 2x12? I hear alotta good things about the eminence as well..but Iv'e heard some clips that make me like the GH12 (I think that's what they are..I could be mistaken)...dunno what I'm gonna do..lol..but when I do try out the QR with the 2x12, if it sounds good, I'll go with whatever speakers are in that puppy

I have 1 Celestion G12H30 and 1 Celestion G12T75, I went with these because this is what Scott designed the amps with as far as I know. The cab sounds Great! Really nice tone and projection lots of low end too!! I am so use to hearing the Celestion speakers (over 20years) so I went with them. I didn't think it was worth the gamble to get the Eminence speakers and probably not be into there sound, so I spend the extra $50.00. I have had some eminence speakers and I didn't like them compared to my ever faithful Celestions. It all comes down to personal preference. I am getting a bit older now I'm in my late 30's, so the celestions provide a nice sharp high end I need for my hearing that I have lost over the years...LOL! Hope this helps you.

it sure does, northern..by the way, saw your reply to 'what's the best 2x12' post on the harmony central forums =) I think it was the G12H30 that I heard in the clip I mentioned before..I can't keep all these friggin' numbers straight =D but you can't go wrong with the right pair of celestions =) I do think that V30's are a little too too bright for me though....but we'll see what the 2x12 is loaded with when I give it a test drive! I'm bettin' that a splawn cab would even wake up my current tube amp.. I was also talkin' to someone who's got a new QR with the 3rd gear mod and they said it's really agressive and tight...just what the tone doctor ordered thanks again for the help!
