Hi to everyone,
I would like to write a short review of my new ProMod for all the members here, who are not own a Splawn.
All Splawn – Owners do know what I mean. ;D
First of all, I’m completely overwhelmed. Never before, I had such a great Sound.
Formerly, I was a Diezel Herbert User, but my Splawn sounds much better.
My ProMod is equipped with Sovtek KT88. In the Loop is a TC G-System and ISP Decimator ProRackG.
To add a little more Gain and Saturation, I’m using a Rodenberg GAS909 Overdrive Pedal ( Settings : Gain 0, Volume and Tone 12 o’clock ).
Cabs are 3 2x12 Diezel V30 Rearloaded.
90% I’m playing with Gear 3, OD2, Gain at 15 o’clock. That is usable for all kind of Heavy Rock, Power Metal etc.
The ProMod is so tight, with a penetrating Power – unbelievable.
The Midrange and the Bassrange is exactly what I’m searching for.
You can hear every single Note. It sounds never muddy or dull. The articulation is so fine, I can’t find the right words ( not even in my German Language ).
Compared to my Herbert is the ProMod much more tight. I never thought, that I will say that, because the Herbert is absolutely a power monster, but the tightness and the clear sounding of the Splawn can’t be beaten.
I love the Flexibility of OD 1 / 2 and the switchable Gears.
All things considered a perfect Amp for me. I didn’t expect that.
A big thank you to Scott Splawn. It’s a pity, that I live in Germany, I think, I never will meet Scott.
I hope anyone can understand what I would like to say. My English should be better as it is.
