ahh, ok. i misunderstood. i know sometime tubes will have a faint blue glow inside as they are heating up. but a bright blue flash is not normal. im guessing when the tube went like that, it took out another fuse, huh? just checked it and yes the new fuse is sh!t...

well I spoke with Scott today.he believes the voltage jump caused the tubes to over heat.I asked about the issues with the JJ KT77.he told me that the JJ kt77's have been re-designed.apparently they test ok but had a tendency to crap out.If Scott pops in this thread it would be cool if he explaines what is going on with these tubes I don't want to mis-quote him.but this is what I got out of the conversation we had.
any way i got to try the other tubes in the 2 inner sockets to see if they blow and were going to take it from there...

well the amp works.2 1/2 powertubes are shot.2 are definately sh!t the logo's are now grey instead of red.one looks fine and one now has a blue line in it when the stand-by is in run but it seems to be working.so in half power the amp works the buzz is back but it works.I'm going to wait for new tubes(el34) re-bias the fooker a bit colder and keep my fingers crossed and hope this never happens again.

yea, it seems to be a tube issue. my last set of kt77s didn't fail like yours and start blowing fuses, but i did notice the amps tones was not what it had been. i checked the tubes and their bias readings were all out of whack and their logos turned grey, just like yours. i guess i caught mine in time before they completely went. i'm pretty sure that buzzing is due to the tube problems. mine doesn't buzz at all. there's a slight hum and hiss that you get when you run the amp with gain and high volume, but no buzzing.

wel the new quad came in to day.going to see if everythng is working.ok I opened her up and nothing looks burnt.poppoed the new quad in matched at 34(old tubes 33) and I got a bias reading of 37MA and plate voltage of 485.brought it down to 29MA to be safe.going to try check it again and then try the fuker out...

well I'm almost ready to say we have complete success.I checked it did another adjustment to the bias and actually played it at low volumes(just about 5 minutes ago).I now have normal high gain hum not buzz at low volume anyway.I'm going to krank the bastid tomorrow and see what happens....
