exactly..they really should be ashamed of themselves....all those knobs and toggle swithches don't mean squat if only a third of your available gain is actually usable..shameful

Of course, a lot of it comes down to how you play - i've heard people play through my recto, pre- and post-mod, and while it works for me, for some it just sounds bad because their fingers aren't made for that type of amp. So then I hook them up to the QR and let the games begin...

IMO they both sound great.
I prefer the 100 watt mode.It is more open and has a little more clarity.
The 50 watt mode is a little more compressed.
Both sound excellent and the differences as stated before, are very subtle.
