yeah, it's a bit more open sounding...it's still got the first gear vibe goign on, just a little more 'classic' That is what I was wanting out of first gear on the Quick Rod. I wasn't in to that much compression. All I wanted was for it to be a little more open sounding. I am into that open vintage tone. Very cool! Plus, it has the new clean channel...right? My Quick Rod didn't have that.....and I wanted it. This amp sounds like it might be what I am looking for out of the Splawns. I have to wait for the tax money to come to me in January. This will be my 3rd Splawn. 3rd times a charm...right? When Scott told me about this amp close to a year ago, I was really interested. yep, same clean channel as well

Motrock, I am not that into the vintage thing but the Super Stock blew me away! It is very open sounding and still has PLENTY of gain. I was jamming with Silverwulf and he was on the Nitro, I was on the Super Stock. That amp is so cutting and the clean channel sounded amazing. I think if you don't need gobs of gain you will be amazed at this thing.

OPEN VINTAGE is what my tone is. I have a Mojave Pickup in my Mansel, and its really open sounding, yet smooth. For me the SuperStock will be like an improved version of the Quick Rods 1st Gear....for my tastes. What kind of speakers were being using with the Super Stock? What was the wattage of the speakers?

I was using the 25 watt small blocks I believe. The Super Stock defintely sounds like a more open 1st gear Quickrod

I might get myself the Scumback M75 25watters to replace the 20watters. Not enough headroom on them.
