This wait is killing me..........Please let this be the week! I read about guys ordering through dealers and getting their build dates prioritized. What's up with that? That's because the dealers order a lot of amps from Scott each year and you'll probably only be buying one. I was quoted about 2 weeks and it's going to end up more like 3. I got the call from Scott that he started my Quick Rod Monday morning...

Well these aren't production model amps being churned out at factory like Marshall. Since Scott offers a lot of different head box configs and recently re-vamped the clean channel some delays should be expected. Nobody likes to wait, but that's what you have to do with small builders.

Hey Guys Sorry for the confusion but here is how it works. Our dealers place orders just as anyone else, which means it goes on the calender with all the rest of the orders. Most dealers have amps on order that are not sold so when a customer calls up and the dealer has an amp coming in two weeks (that is not spoken for), then the wait for the customer seems short but the amp has actually been on order for a while. You still have to understand that we are a small company its just 4 guys doing it all and we get sick have dentist/doctor and other appointments just like everyone else. This summer has been very different than last year, it is normally slow. Take last week for example we had 15 orders for just heads come in and we can only build 16 heads a month so all of these guys will expect their amp to ship at the same time, there is no way. Most people will say then you need to expand that sounds easy but how many people can you pull of the street who know how to build tube amps and that you can trust to not steal your idea's. I really do not see how Scott does not go crazy with it all, wiring each amp himself, taking calls, emails, shipping, ordering parts etc. Whew! I am glad that all I do is the wood work. I hope this helps with why there is a wait.
PS Steve your amp is shipping today!!!!!

Tree, I was thinking thats how it worked, as I went through a dealer and still waited the standard time. I didnt want to post anything as I was wondering of something had changed.
Hmm Sounds like you need some major help!! To work at Splawn would be some serious job security :-)

indeed, socal....that cleared up MY misunderstanding of how it works as well...so, this post of yours was a good thing...people always ask if they should get it from a dealer or scott on varoius forums, to see when they'd get it sooner, etc, etc.....now I'll know how to better address the question!

This was very helpfull to me too!! So thanks again for posting! The reason I went through a dealer? TRADE-IN! Some Dealers are a fabulous thing when it comes to this area. and the dealer I went through made me a great deal, and I know it was because of Splawn and the way the treat dealers (think pricing etc). for just having FOUR people, its amazing they can do what they do!

Building a quality hand made amp with high quality parts is a time consuming task. I ordered my CR earlier this year and it took me exactly 55 days to get it. It was worth the wait though. Actually the wait didn't bother me a bit as it allowed me to pay off some other bills while I was waiting.

Rest assured Scott and crew are doing a killer job. Ive seen other gear related busineses crumble under new found popularity. I am a new dealer for Scott and am very proud he accepted us into the Splawn family. Scott went above and beyond for me recently and it showed me what a class act that he and his crew truly are. I cant wait to get one for myself. Tony www.gearsourcemusic.com

I ordered mine on October 6 and was told it would be 8-10 weeks.....No way I could wait that long, I don't have the patience for that.....so I paid the up charge on the 10th and he built it the very next weekend and shipped it on the following Tuesday, it was at my door in Huntington Beach last Wednesday.....now thats service, well worth the extra $150. Been playing guitar for over 20 years and owned dozen's of amps, this Competition is by far the best guitar related purchase I ever made. I also don't think you get get the Competition thru the dealer network, only factory direct.

yep mine are due really soon... As the ohio dealer said, Scott is a class act and goes above and beyond. Hey Tony, get one in, I know its tough to do, they sell so fast, I sold a couple before I ever got my first ones in, it is as good as they say it is. I hated to deal them not having a hands on experience so I made sure I got some in. Trust me, try one! Good luck bro, Splawn is a killer product. But, they are a small workforce with a huge schedule, give'em time you won't regret it. All schedules are tentative! Let me know if you have any questions I am here to help, Josh Sage
Hamer, how did you like the QR you got from Dave's...Pretty killer huh? Glad you got one faster!

Hi all!
Yeah, I know about wait times. I wish I could have received my new McNaught G-5 in 2 - 3 months! It took almost a year to get it. What an incredible guitar!
