finally practiced with the quick rod with my band. for the past 2 years or so i've been playing through a vetta at shows and rehearsals...i broke out the quick rod yesterday and it sounded great...i'm going to use it at the next show on friday and see how it does with our whole setlist...
if it does well it's gonna replace the vetta. ;D...and then i can justify a new splawn cab ;D

Hey splawnfan how did the Quick Rod do at the gig? that friggin show was cancelled because my bass player got sick...and the next 2 shows (we play out about once a week) are BIG shows and i don't feel like debuting a new amp at them..so...i need to wait 2 weeks until this other show at a smaller club to finally play this thing out live...sounds great at practice!...for effects i run through an alesis midiverb 4 and it really sounds GREAT

I know how you feel. I was so excited to get my Quick Rod in December, that I played through it for only 2 days before debuting it at the New Years Eve gig in front of 1000 people. I never looked back though and haven't even plugged in my 5150 or ADA-MP1 since getting it...
Just out of curiosity, playing devils advocate here... You guys play rock stuff right? What could you possibly be playing that would require more than a clean, dirty and lead boost channel? I only ask because I just despise the Line6 stuff,,,LOL and I can't believe someone that has your excellent taste in tone would use one of those modeler thingys.

Craig..........I could not have said it better myself! LOL He would be making a mistake if he didn't take his QuickRod to the next 2 gigs. I think Line 6 is the most fake processed amp sound you can get. Splawn totally rules and you should let it shine! ;D

we play rock stuff yeah but it's a very diverse setlist...if you looked at our setlist you'd see everything from "purple rain" and "sweet caroline" to "enter sandman"...i agree that the splawn can cover all the rock stuff but i wanted to see how the clean could cover the clean tones i need...another factor was ease of switching tones...my line 6 allows me to switch channels at a step of a button so i needed to work that out also...i don't run the same tone the whole night...
i agree that the quick rod slays the line 6 but i get compliments on the tone of the line 6 almost every show...part of it is that you need to spend some time and tweak that thing...i lot of people don't spend the time in tweaking that...that being said, i'd like to debut the new amp at a less pressured show than the next 2 coming up...
