Anyone wonder why scotts website is Splawnguitars.com rather then Splawnamps.com ? Isn't he recognized for his amps? Only makes sense to me. In fact does he even make guitars?

Scott actually started out as a music store owner... www.splawnguitars.com represented that effort and he sold all types of guitars and amps. And there was a brief period where he actually did produce a line of Splawn guitars...I'm lucky enough to have one of those guitars! ;D When I get a minute, I'll have to snap some pics and post them. From there word started to get out about his amp mods and the rest is as they say, "History". Here's an interesting bit of trivia. Scott actually started his guitar shop inside of the auto parts store he was working in...i guess auto parts job it was his "day job" and the guitar stuff was his side gig. I remember walking in looking for auto parts and seeing a cornerful of guitars and amps...I had to do a double take. For a while, it was the best darn auto parts place ever! ;D Thankfully, business was good and Scott moved his shop to his current location in Dallas, NC. where he continues to sells all kind of guitars, but most specializes in Splawn amps...go figure. ;D Later, Patrick

That is strange! how many other mechanics we got on here?
I was licensed Chevy, Chrysler, Nissan, and Kawasaki motor division, custom built a few harleys, ( like fretburner's but not as current) before I got the plush inside job.. but I am a nobody that likes to build amps. :-)

I took vocational/technical classes for automechanics in high school. Now I am an environmental scientist, go figure! It's good stuff to know and I have been trying to get into building pedals but haven't put much time into it yet.

Yeah Scotts big into cars and dragsters,, thus the Quick Rod, Pro Mod etc.. I think his brother is Steve Splawn who is a professional drag car racer.
