Danny Gatton had lil smokies. That man could flat out get it. I've got pretty big hands shredder but I don't go around playing the intro lick to "Colorado Bulldog" lol!!!! sometimes long stretches are overrated. I just think it would be nice to have though..another weapon in the arsenal, as it were =)

I hear ya man. Just use your right hand to tap the notes you want. You can make it happen. Ever see Kotzen play the intro to "Green Tinted sixties mind"? Doesn't make the leaps or stretches that Gilbert uses at all.

Shoot, look at Yngwies hands,, like a friggin' catchers mit. His fingers look like they were injected with saturated fat then deep fried in crisco. That guys got some phat fingers.

I do admit, I'm a fret surfer because I can't make the long reaches..rare are the times when you see me hang in one place for very long

my hands and fingers are very average for a 6' 175lb guy...I don't have an excuse...I would figure that 'big' hands are a major problem when you get inside the 10th fret!

I have pretty large hands like Craig (size 13's as well!) and while it helps with stretches I get fumbled real fast past the 15th fret!

I don't have problems until about 15th position. Then its getting a bit cramped for 3-note-per string sequences.

I guess it depends on your fingers as well..if you have kilbasa type fingers (long and thick...jeez, I feel sorry for anyone who zooms in on THAT and doesn't take it in context...LOL) then I can understand... lynch, mustaine, guys like that..gilbert, etc, etc..they have long fingers, but they're thin...

SRV had short fingers but did you ever see the muscles in his hand? No wonder he was tearing it up with 13 gauge strings!
