Well gentlemen, Sat. night I got to check out morecowbell's "68GUNS", and I'm happy to report that Mark (aka: morecowbell) and his Splawn, as well as the rest of the band, sounded great! I got to the gig about 20 or 30 minuites before they went on and introduced myself to Mark. Mark is a super nice guy and we talked amps and drank beer until he went on. That was the first time i had heard a Splawn "in person". The amp sounded awesome, but Mark wasn't 100% happy. They were playing kind of a small room with lots of hard surfaces (not exactly an ideal environment for loud rock and roll), so he couldn't turn up as much as he usually does. Nevertheless, his tone was thick, rich and chewy. We chatted a bit more through the course of the night, but, when not on stage, he was busy being a gracious host to all the other folks that were there to support the band. In short, they rocked the house and a good time was had by all! And I'm definitely gettin' me one of them there Splawns!

I have played out about 8 gigs with my Splawn Quick Rod. I almost always get great compliments on the amps tone ,etc. I still say it's the best modded Marshall out there! It has the most balls of any amp I've owned. We have played very small rooms and huge stages and the Splawn does exellent at any size venue, but my favorites are the ones where I get to open it up, of course!
