Since this is the "off subject" area....I just got the new Eric Johnson "live in Austin" DVD... Holy crap! I have always thought the world of his playing and tone, but DAMN!......the DVD is great...his tone is breathtaking.

Love Eric...if ya notice, most of his 'tone' is in the lower mid range of the spectrum....he plays for the 'violin' vibe, not a pick squeeler type...smooth as silk though.

yeah, you are correct...man, he is so accurate and absolutley commands the guitar...real great to watch...brought joy to my soul.

I drive 6 hours to watch him in Austin, and San Antonio, His home town I think, last time I saw him was with G3 Tour, amazing tone live. he seems to relax a little more and have fun. I will have to get the DVD. fun to watch him play live.

yeah, it is from 88...i just watched it again...i'm impressed with every aspect of his playing.
