Some of the Slash marshalls are very good for what they do. I have one of the very first ones. And I will never get rid of it. BUT IT AIN'T NO SPLAWN EITHER.

I liked the Slash model I had too; honestly though, even if it is a reissue of the Silver Jubilee, I liked the way my Jubilee sounded better. I play too much like Slash anyway, and with those amps I sound too much like him too, tone-wise. The Splawn gives me a little more of my own sound, at least my last one did.
Slash rocks though. \m/

;D +100 on that. Slash is one of those feelin it to get it right players. Maybe his stuff is not the most technical, and he is left field compared to say, Paul Gilbert yet his basic rythmic style is pleasing to the ear. Cool grooves, changes of pace, space for the notes to breathe from time to time. ;D A good riff when ya need it. IMHO . The cons, To pentatonic based to often, needs to expand past the just jamming style of song writing. Again, IMHO. ;D But as a whole I love the guy as a player. More good than bad.

Yeah, his playing is what I like though; I lean toward guys like that (Slash, Tommy Skeoch, Joe Perry, Paul Kossoff, Keith Nelson). I love the ability of some of the technical guys, but I never had that level of capability in me-I am floored by guys like Craig here on the forum. Since I never had that capability, I find that I gravitated toward those sloppy, feel players. I can play fast, some technical stuff, but mostly the "feel" type stuff. If it sounds good, you know? However, I wish Slash would be doing something besides VR-they are too safe and have become STP rather than Guns; Snakepit was better than anything those guys have done so far.

i predict a full guns reunion before the end of next year I'll drink (or do heroin) to that!!! I dunno though, Axl would have to get his ego in check and dump Chi Dem first (or release it as a solo album, which he should've done in the first place). I'd love to see it though; they were great when I saw 'em in the 80's, not as great in the 90's. Hopefully Steven can cut it, as I don't want to see/hear drum machine Sorum with them.

;D Hey rocker JT, I'm with ya dude. I like the feel players also. I also really like DC'S playing. Very polished. I like what I have seen from most of the guys on the Splawn convention vids too. Tj has what I think is a great cross over style, kinda the best of both roads ahead. Or simply put, a h@ll of alot of combined great licks, bits and pieces. ;D Shreder gets some KILLER TONES in his playing too. Okay, that's all the butt smoochin I am capable of in one post. +100 percent on Slash, Joe perry, etc............... Scott's playing is right in there with his amp building huh?

;D Scott's playing is right in there with his amp building huh? Scott's playing is kick-ass, and his amps speak for themselves. I only wish I could've made it to that convention. Maybe next time, although there will probably be a million guys there, all pro, and us little wanna-be's will have to sit outside and listen. Oh well, we were there first, right? A lame analogy-kinda like the hot chick that everyone is checking out that you dated first.........still good, but we knew her when, ha ha. ;D

I dunno. But I can tell ya this. I think Scott's a very grounded person, strong in the faith and probably overly considerate, which is a good thing. I bet the table at vegas, due to these facts, Scott would not or will not let guys like us come off feeling shorted by any means. Not if he could help it. I also bet the amps are built to play, but to be played BY ALL WHO WOULD LOVE THEM. And of course pay for them. Then again, I've just desribed all of the staff there at Splawn amps also. ;D COOL HUH? And next year Bro, I will be there if I'm still breathing, and I will look around there and find you and we will hang.

:-/Bro, I will be there if I'm still breathing, and I will look around there and find you and we will hang. Yeah, everytime I talked to Scott, he came off as a great guy and very humble. I was being a little facetious about us having to hang outside, but I think his amps are going to break big; it just takes one big name to say he digs them-Slash maybe? Although he isn't a big name anymore, I still hope to get Frank into one of these someday-he just has to hear it. Maybe I can loan him my Marshall Splawn if I ever get that Quickrod (and I do have the money now). And I will be there next year, if there is an event next year. We will definitely hang, and we will let Craig and Tj and company shred us other guys into the dirt, loving it the whole time. I gotta get to bed; I am getting delerious.
