Hey Joel, Cool to see you posts. I always liked your band and the guitar tones. Did you record with the splawn on the new record or are you just using it live?

Joal posting on the forum. Too Cool... My band plays Gel at every gig! That solo is a tough one for me.. But I love it!

I did use the Splawn on a few songs but my main recording amp is an amp I built myself. It's sort of a Marshall meets Vox kind of thing. I used the Splawn all over some songs I recorded recently with Steve Walsh(lead singer of Kansas) which sounded great.-Joel

I've been in Key West so I didn't notice until today either.. SWEET. Thats awesome of you to post Joel. Thanks for clearing that up and spreading the Splawn love. I'm sure everyone really appreciates it and I think it goes along way to helping the guys at Splawn!

Marshall/Vox....hmmmmmmm, like the 18watt? I built one of those amps about a year and a half back. Great recording amp for sure. Really translated to tape well and it was a lot of fun fooling around with different components to change the tone on the amp. Great to see you post here Joel.....

Cool. We use to cover shine, which was always one of my alltime favorites to play. I always faked my way through that solo - and since we did it late in the night, people were usually drunk ehough to think I nailed it.
As far as the conspiracy comment I made, It drives me nuts, because I am such a geek that when I see a band playing live on TV, I am always trying to check the rigs they are using, and the camera man/director always seems to be focusing on some singer - or drummer, what's up with that. Show me some Gee-tar gear! It is a conspiracy!

My amp is more like a hopped up AC30 in that it has the AC30 power section but a much more gained up preamp. It also has an fx loop, mastervolume, etc... I call it the "SugarFuzz".-Joel
