The KT77 are ok. More chunk than crunch.
basically these tubes were from the 70's and phase out.
sorta cross between a EL34 & 6L6 or something? FRANKENSTIEN TUBE.
Bob from Eurotube brought them back thru JJ.
Guy's who have Rectum fryer love these tubes.
adds a slight british flavor to their Mesa's.
I myself like the Mullards EL34's much better. KT77 aren't bad. their just not for me.

oh. These were installed in my prostock. But luckly I have a quad of Mullards.

agreed...I had 77s in my QR and I couldn't get them out quick enough....not for me either

I don't mess with the tubes in my splawn anymore..after lots of experimentation with power amp tubes as well as pre amp tubes, it sounds the best the way scott ships it...mullards in the power section, JJs in the pre amp...done deal BUT, I do take the covers off the pre amp tubes  the shredder mod..heh |

BUT, I do take the covers off the pre amp tubes the shredder mod..heh I've often wondered about that. Why the covers? And does it hurt the amp to do so? |

One of these days I might try diffrent tubes. But from reading on this site,I think I save a lot of time and money. I'll stick with stock,Scott knows what he is doing.

I'm glad some of you guy's like em'. But I'm still sticking to the Mullards.
Like I said"their more chunk than crunch & have a 6L6 sorta sound to me.
