Hey fellow Splawn owners. As a contractor in Southern California, I was lucky enough to be working on a job at the Fender factory in SoCal last week. Amazing place.....saw the whole facility and many many cool things and some things I wasn't supposed to see..... like a stack of guitar bodies in a certain striped pattern.... Worked in the Custom shop and in the workstation of the famous John Cruz who crafted the SRV and Blackie limited edition Strats. Saw at least 50 just finished and in progress custom shop signatures, closet classic's and Relic's. Could probably get fired for this post, but thought I would share what I saw anyway. Love my Splawn Competition head.

Sounds like Fender is getting a limited run of custom shop Frankensteins ready for the market. Hope they don't ask for $25,000 like the Clapton Blackie strat.

Well the Fender custom shop is there as well as the Jackson/Charvel, Guild and Gretsch custom shops. There is literally guitars and guitar bodies and necks everywhere....hanging on the walls, in peoples offices and cubicles, in showrooms, vaults, laboratories....everywhere. racks and racks of bodies and necks. I have to go in every area of the factory to complete my job, but I kept finding excuses to go into the custom shop area so I could nose around. Cool people too, love to answer my silly questions and talk about guitar stuff.
