I happened to be at a business meeting near Charlotte today, and it was about 5 minutes from Scott's shop, so I went over and introduced myself. Scott was fantastic - he took a few minutes away from the bench and showed me around and I met a few of the guys working there. Tree even showed me the cab for what will become the Quickrod 2x12 Combo prototype. It's very cool - close to the size of the oversized 2x12's, and it will utilize the exact same chassis as the heads (existing QR head chassis can be inserted without any changes). It's being desiged so that tube changes and biasing can be done without pulling the chassis from the cab as well. Freaking sweet.
Also got to watch some tolex being applied in Splawn fashion - those guys are amazing. Scott even gave me a T-shirt. It's gonna be a long 6 weeks waiting for my QR, but well worth it. I'm glad I got the chance to meet him and his crew.
