Hey Guys Here is a pic of the new chassis design. Scott had to have a new chassis built to accommodate the extra pre-amp tube. The chassis is a little longer than the older version. The mounting bolt tab on the older chassis bent to the outside like an older Plexi, on the newer chassis the tabs bend to the inside making the chassis a little longer like an 800 style. The head box size did not change at all. The way that you can identify this is the input on the new chassis is in-line with the control knobs, not offset like the older models.

This maybe a stupid question, so here it goes. Why does the new design have an added pre-amp tube? I know that you don't have to use tubes to have another gain stage. Is that what the extra tube is for? Does this mean there will be 4 pre-amp tubes? How will this effect the tone, and the cost?
Oh ya, before I forget. What's the build time up to? Last I heard, 8 weeks.

What happened to the mid knob on the clean channel eq? Can we get one if we order a new head?

What happened to the mid knob on the clean channel eq? Can we get one if we order a new head? The mid knob is gone on the clean channel, now it has separate gain and volume controls like the Bogner Shiva. It shoudn't be a problem, I never missed having a mid knob when I had the Shiva. The extra pre amp tube is for the clean channel. I think it's so it doesn't have to share gain settings with the crunch channel anymore. That means you should be able to get true cleans instead of them always having a bit of grit on them.

This kind of burns me a little. Had I of known that Scott was coming up with an updated clean channel I would have waited on getting my ProMod that I got earlier this year. I know he has the right to change his amps at any time, but he could have given me a heads up. I asked him several questions about his clean channel before I ordered my ProMod and he didn't mention that a better one was in the works. Had he told me I would have waited. I love my ProMod gain channel, but the clean definately lacks. Anyway, sorry to vent.
