I've been lurking around this forum for a while and decided to add my 2 cents. I'm of the shall we say "OLDER" generation and been in the music biz a good many years. I'm also a collector or pack rat to better phrase that statement.

I started my quest for tone way back when, starting by using Sunn and Vox stuff, moving up to Hiwatt and then settling on Marshall's.

After a brief (?) hiatus. I started experimenting with different amps....H & K Triamp, VHT, Bogner, Soldano...etc.

I picked my Splawn QR back in Feb 2006 and I have to say.........OMG!!!! I love this amp! ;D It gives me the Marshall sound I've been so fond of all these years and so much more.

I currently use the QR and a custom built Soldano with either a pair of old Hiwatt or Marshall cabs. The QR has replaced the Bogner as my primary amp. Anyway...........I look forward to meeting you folks and in general, having a good time here on the Splawn Forum.

Welcome guitarweasel,i have also used many amps,racks,pedals etc searching for the sound ive had in my head for years and then just by pure luck i stumbled on a thread on another site by vomhalen about the Splawn Quickrod and that was that,i had to have one,so i ordered one and ive had mine for just over a year and i wont be looking for anything else now!!

I like my quickrod, its a great amp. I almost sold it because I ordered to much gear and needed cash but I cancelled one of the guitars I ordered and kept the splawn. I love gear 1 od2.

I have yet to run the QR and SLO together especially
at my smaller venues BUT....I bet it would be incredible !
Welcome and yes the Splawn also fulfills the best Marshall

The QR & the Soldano together are brutal ! Kids.......Don't try this at home ! ;D
