Hey new guy here, just wondering what this meant
2 position foot switchable mode switch,
1st position is foot switchable between 1st & 2nd gear,
2nd position is foot swithcable between 2nd & 3rd gear
I've played, and loved, the pro mod but dont really need the clean. My engl does that great. I saw the competition and thought it had all 3 gears as the pro mod but i see on the forums here it doesnt. That above quote threw me off when i was reading through its specs. Thanks!
What would you recommend me get if i dont need the clean of the pro mod but the od, lead channels?

From what I understand, it does have all 3 gears but you can only footswitch between 2 of them (this depending on where the gear switch is placed). If the gear switch is on 1 & 2 that is what you can footswitch between and if it is on 2 & 3 that is what the footswtich with switch between. You cannot footwitch from gears 1 to 3.

ah thanks a ton. So i guess its basically like the promod without the clean and @ 50watt? If so i think i'll be pulling the trigger and joining the splawn club for sure.

Well, it is either like the ProMod or the Quick Rod depending on whether you order it with KT88's or EL34's. If you order it with KT88's definately upgrade to the JJ's. |

The promod i played had the kt88's so thats probably what i would go with. Whats the upside to upgrading those tubes?

The JJ KT88's are bigger sounding than the Sovtek's according to Scott.

zao, a familiar face, sort of.
I definitly want to get a splawn, i just cant decide on which to get. The pro mod i tried out i loved. I just dont need the clean channel with my engl. Im just trying to see which will match or if none will match what i need i'll just wait till i can get a pro mod. Im also 17 which puts a tougher ability for me to work and make the 2000 for a new guitar, or amp purchase. Im really wanting a LP before i get another amp, but that can change depending on what i feel or find.
