Yeah I will post pictures when I get it. I'd like to go bigger cabs but I carry all this gear myself (No Roadies) when I'm gigging and 90% of the clubs we're playing are small places so that's why I have the (2) 2X12 Marshall's. I guess from what I have read so far, Scott's 2x12's sound really big so I may just end up going that route. I have to try the QR with my Marhsall's first and hear what it sounds like. Thanks Bro! I got the Plexi style cab, Gold face chassis, gold piping and "Chicken Head Knobs" I went with black tolex to match my Marshall 1936 Cabs. I may end up buying some new cabs shortly. Right on! Classic style!! send pictures when you get it.. ;D cant wait to see how chicken heads looks on a classic. sounds cool Tree posted about making slant 4x12 cabs. I hope he does, I have got a trade with a dealer started so I will be ready on a release date. you going bigger cabs?

I done the same, tried it first using the marshall cabs, two 4x12's. the guys here advised that the marshall cabs are a little brittle on the top end, (which I am hearing) compared to the splawn cabs.. waiting on those slant cabs!! :-)
I dont blame ya one bit on the 2x12's!

Does the new Competition model allow for switching from the clean to overdrive channel via the footswitch? The website info doesn't make that clear. Is gear 1 the clean channel & gear 2 the overdrive chanel? The website says the footswitch functions are: Three button footswitch w/LED's, F/S functions: #1 Gear 1 & 2 #2 OD1 & OD2 #3 Solo Boost

there is no clean on the competition model..that's why it's cheaper..also cause it's only 50 watts..hope this helps!

I understand the reduced features & reduced power rating resulting in a reduced price. The website says this for the Competition & the Pro Stock: "Rhy , Lead channel with solo boost,..." So these are one channel amps, like a 1976 Master Volume Marshall, for example? Sure would love to hear from a current Pro Stock owner!

Hello...I have one of the original Pro-Stock 100's. All MM trannies JJ's all around. Sounds incredible. You can get some clean sounds with it but requires major re-tweaking. I'm guessing mine was built 2003 but not sure. LOVE it! Matter of fact, I just gave it a physical make-over, here's a pic: home.comcast.net/~n0fx/orangecrush1.jpg

n0fx: that must be your clip on the website. I like that very much. Great sound. What cab was used for that song? With a sound *that* good, who needs a flippin QuickRod?!

Thanks man...My Pro-Stock is a single channel with boost...EL-34's. I love it but NOW I do need a clean channel. I am able to tweak it with the MV to make it sorta clean with a Strat. I used an old 5150 cab with a Sheffield, Pyle and Celestion speakers. It basically sounds great at low or high volume levels. I'm using this for recording since it's a single CH but I gig with a SLO. I'm sure the COMP is a great value but spend carefully, you never know when you may need a switchable clean channel. If this isn't an issue, get the COMP, i feel confident it will rock.

I hear ya, n0fx. I thought I'd always own a 2-channel amp after fighting my Master Volume Marshalls through the '90s. But that Competition fits my budget better & I can use my Tech 21 Tri A.C. through it's own power amp & cab for clean. I like the Tri A.C.'s clean Fender sound. All that being said, if I *can* swing a QuickRod, I will. I have some gear I'm selling to procure a Splawn but it's not all selling fast enough & bro, I'm jonesing for a Splawn bad! Having played Marshalls for 10+ years & hearing these clips, well.....you know! You copped one!

I just ordered a Competition this afternoon. It should be in my hands by mid May. Could anyone here explain the footswitch functions?

I can't help you with the Competition footswitch as I'm not familiar with that model...I'm sure someone else will jump in and help out.

Hi Craggin. The foot switch has a 1st and second gear, light on less distortion, 2cond gear light off more distortion, you either use 1st and 2cond gear along overdrive 1 light on and overdrive 2. These combinations range from early EVH, and George Lynch to late EVH and George Lynch. I have had very little time since I got the competition to really sit down and mess with it. I got some pedals to go along with it and ordered some cables(evidenceaudio). Everything is to be put together pretty soon. I had requested the amp and a 2x12 cabinet going after the ACDC sound, but got more lots more. I am glad I ordered the amp in december. Long waiting list and it keeps growing. Enjoy.

That long waiting list is a good thing for Scott. The mans remodeling his shop so he can keep up with it.
