HI OUT THERE. I AM NEW TO THIS GROUP BUT NOT NEW TO SPLAWN. I HAVE ONE OF THE FIRST QRS WITH THE CLEAN CHANNEL. NOW I SEE SCOTT HAS ADDED THE 3 WAY MODE SWITCH. HAS ANYBODY PLAYED A QR WITH AND WITHOUT THE SWITCH. AM I MISSING SOMETHING OR CAN YOU STILL GET THE SAME SOUNDS BY ADJUSTING THE GAIN AND TONE.ANYBODY KNOW IF HE IS OFFERING TO UPGRADE THE OLDER VERSION TO THE NEWEST. THE QUICK ROD ALREADY WITHOUT THE SWITCH IS THE BEST AMP I HAVE EVER OWNED OR PLAYED ON. USE IT FOR CLEAN BLUES WITH MILD GAIN AND FOR 80S HAIRBAND MUSIC. USE IT IN BOTH MY BANDS FOR TWO DIFFERENT SOUNDS AND IT SOUNDS GREAT.GUITAR INTO AMP NO PEDALS IN FRONT OR EFFECTS IN THE LOOP.HAS ANYBODY EVER USED THE LOOP. I FIND IT MAKES THE TONE TINNY.

hey man...
stop yelling! heheh
anywho, first gear is equivalent to the low gain input, second gear is equivalent to the high gain input...
I don't think scott's doing third gear mods on quick rods for the foreseeable future..he's a busy guy =D but it can't hurt to ask...
as far as the loop..scott said that it'll sound tinny at low volumes..but it catches up once you start to up the master a little bit.

As shreder said.. My Loop tone catches up pretty quick. just make sure your in-out are set even or it takes more to get the tone back in.

thanks for the info. The loop sounds good at higher volumes. i was trying it at bedroom volumes.tried it at band practice and the loop sounded fine.I was a little put off when I found out it was a solid state loop but it does not really hurt the tone if the amp is loud enough.I was just thrown a little because I own a Peavey triple xxx for a backup and that loop sounds good with the amp hardly on but there is not comparison in tone when playing in a band situation.QR rules.Triple xxx is a good amp for the money $300 used.

triple xxx sounds real good especailly with Mullard El34s in it.Best $300 I ever spent.40 watts 1-12 vintage 30. take it to practice all the time instead of draging the splawn and a cabinent.
