I'm relatively new to Splawn amps but I'm very interested in what I hear & see. Does anyone have any pics of the inside of a Quick Rod or other Splawn amp? Thanks much!

Nice Quick Rod. I was hoping someone had shots of the inside, so I could see the ciruit board(s) & see how it's put together. Cool cover on your amp!

Its very close to the Marshall Plexi board inside and with some additional resistors and caps, and the footswitch module that's about it.

The controls are not mounted on a pcb, are they? I don't mind pcb construction but I don't want trouble like I had with a couple of JCM900's & socket mounted pcb's. I hope someone comes up with a pic or 2 or 3....

No the controls/ pots etc.. are wired to the board not what you are thinking. If you want to change a component it is pretty easy, you don't have to remove the entire board to work on it.

Doesn't look like I'll get any pics but that doesn't matter. After much careful thought I realized I don't need a 100watt head. Back in the day I had a Carvin X100B & ran it half-power all the time. I had a 100watt Marshall jcm800 MV & sold it within 6 months, keeping the 2 50watt models I had at the time. Bottom line is, I simply have no need for a 100watt head. Splawn doesn't offer any 50watt models & I'm not into the half-power thing any more. I prefer the smaller transformers working harder. Maybe I can cop a 50watt head & have Splawn mod it.
After hearing clips of the Quickrod, perhaps I could live with a 100watt head after all. Jeepers, what a sound!
