hi tree, i know one of the most commonly asked questions is:
"which has more gain...a pro mod or a quick rod?"

Recent questions to me from users on various boards have been: What transformers does your Quick Rod have? What tubes are in it? What speakers are in your Splawn and Splawn-modded cabinets? Does the 1/2 power setting sound good?

Another question regarding the FX loop (see thread in Pro Mod section) seems to apply to QR's and PM's: it seems that the FX loop (when OD channels are engaged) causes the amp to lose quite a bit of its original tone. In my case, I hooked up a Rocktron Xpression to experiment with. The amp immediately lost all of its bottom end, no matter how I used the -10 or +4 db pad on the back. The tone became extremely bright and fizzy, even with the effect unit in bypass mode. Other user(s) have experienced this same situation, so I am curious if there is a remedy. I don't currently use effects in the loop of my QR, but it would be nice to have the option.

IMO theres not enough info about the clips on the site. Make an artist page with clips and specific settings for each Splawn artist. The amps I've sold or helped sell, were the result of answering very specific questions about the clips recorded, my settings, guitar, pups, cab etc etc etc..
Like for example, the Stuck Mojo guy. Ok thats cool but who is he? Wheres some clips? whats he using? effects? you get the idea.

Maybe something about the three gear switch and what it exactly does or how. Also a better variety of clips so people know its not just for 80's rock!

was just lookin' over this again..and I can't agree enough about the variation in sound clips...
alotta people think it's just for nailing EVH or doing 80's rock, as others have said..I think if there were clips from eveyrthing from blues and clean clips all the way up to thrashing in your face metal, alotta people would be less hesitant to take the plunge!
but don't record any new clips till you guys are done building my QR and 4x12..I don't wanna wait any longer than I have to..LOL j/k =)

I think the variety of clips is great. Have you guys heard Zack from Cantagious clip? WOW, I love that one. Sweet bluesy strat clean... Al's got the VH territory covered, so does Scott's clips. Disciples stuff is awesome, he should put some of those clips on there for straight out Metal. My clips got the 80's Lynch thing covered I think,, Tim Newton's clip is cool funky blues/rock.

would like to hear some of jack frost's clips..
the Contagious clip is also great..I clicked on the disciple site and it's not workign anymore! =(
any word on al's personal site by the way, craig?
I think a few heavier clips would be great..like the ones that were posted on the splawn clips area of the forum..they should go on the main site

I don't currently use effects in the loop of my QR, but it would be nice to have the option. I'm having the same problem. Here's my post from the Pro-Mod section. Any help would be appreciated. Hey guys, I've got a Pro-Mod and I tried running a noise gate (Rocktron Guitar Silencer) and a Chandler Stereo Digital Echo thru the loop and got nothing but buzzy, distorted, thin, noisy, less gainy sound. I tried these units by themselves, together, with the +4, -10 buttons in and out, and nothing worked. I've got a couple VHT Pittbulls and these units work fine in those amps. Does it sound like something may be broken or is there a chance some FX units are just not compatible with this amp? Neither one of these FX have input or output levels to adjust, they're kind of like an amplifier input. Just sends and returns. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
